I’m not going to call someone this late. I mean, the thing about my issues when I get home and I feel depressed, is that usually the day time takes all of it away. I usually drown out with music, movies, writing, reading. so that’s what I do. I wish I could verbally communicate this post because it reads a little more depressing than I really am.

Today I started a little fun project called “250”

I took the top 250 movies, as rated by critics and fans, on IMDB and I am watching every single one. Starting from 250. well, the ones I can find on Netflix at least. I’ll have to search out the ones I can’t find. I don’t want to scan the internet for a shoddy version, or run the risk of crashing my computer.

May 9th 2013. DAY ONE!!!

Big Fish (2003) Dir. Tim Burton

Review, etc:

This film was amazing. It has been years since I read the book. I remember loving the book, and I think this movie stood up to the book, as far as I can recall. The cinematography was beautiful. Tim Burton, I feel like, can sometimes take an idea and turn it into “his” own thing. if that makes any sense. But this film, I believe was done extremely well, and yes, while being very “loud” and theatrical, it was a perfect match for Burton’s imagination. Ewan McGregor was charming as the main character. Jessica Tandy is always fabulous. Helena Bonham Carter actually did not annoy the shit out of me. She tends to get on my nerves when she is overplayed in Tim’s movies, but Big Fish, I felt was just the right amount of screen time. Steve Buscemi is on point as always. Love that man.
